Dr Tiberghien completed a PhD degree in Tourism from Auckland University of Technology and holds a Master degree in International Relations from University Paris-Est Marne la Vallée and a Bachelor in Business Administration from Kedge Business School in France. He has over 15 years of experience in teaching Bachelor and Master Degree Programmes in Tourism Management and Marketing in an international context. He was an associate programme leader for the development and the launch of a Tourism and Hospitality program at KIMEP University in Kazakhstan. He is now the programme convenor in Dumfries of the new Master in Management and Sustainable Tourism with the Adam Smith Business School in Glasgow.

His main teaching and research activities focus on the relationships between Tourism Marketing, Cultural Heritage Tourism and Sustainable Tourism Development. Dr Tiberghien conducted several consulting projects in the fields of Tourism Marketing and Sustainable Tourism Development across Central Asia and New Zealand.
