Our first winter board game night took place on Tuesday 13 February. The event was organised by Rebecca Sutton and by Wabia Nganatha Karugu (LLM Candidate), to bring together SoL staff and students for an evening of socialising with hot chocolate, cake and games.

The pedagogical game ‘A Brave New World’, which participants had the chance to road test, was created by staff at Nottingham Trent Law School. It was designed to facilitate discussion around issues of human rights and legal principles. Using game-play, participants can work towards building an equal society where both "purple goblins" and "green goblins" can thrive – or incite rebellion when society becomes too unequal.

Special thanks to colleagues Maria Fletcher and Catriona Cannon of our EDI committee for championing this event, as well as our contacts at GULS who helped spread word of the event to students.

There are copies of the game available for members of the School to borrow – please contact Rebecca Sutton for further information.
