Principal Investigators Dr David Bain and Dr Michael Brady have been awarded a John Templeton Foundation grant of £362,372 for a new project:  "The Value of Suffering:  An Interdisciplinary Investigation of the Nature, Meaning, and Role of Affective Experience".  

The project began in September 2013 and will conclude in May 2016. In addition to  PIs Bain and Brady, its personnel includes project manager and post-doc Dr. Jennifer Corns, PhD student Abraham Cordoba, and a wider, international, interdisciplinary research team of neuroscientists, psychologists, and clinicians. The project's activities will include workshops and conferences and public lectures, with outputs including academic books and articles, popular publications, and an interactive blog.
