24 February 2023 - Livia Ionescu attended the European Space Agency Academy’s Space Systems Engineering Training Course 2023

Livia Ionescu, a PhD researcher in the SET group, was among the 30 highly motivated and enthusiastic university students selected to participate in the Space Systems Engineering Training Course 2023, held from 31st January – 3rd February 2023 in the ESA Academy’s Training and Learning Facility (TLF) at ESA’s ESEC-Galaxia, Belgium.

During the four days' course, participants learnt about the background and challenges of Space Systems Engineering before delving into the roles of a Systems Engineer within ESA and exploring the System Engineering process in detail.

Livia said:

It was really a privilege to attend the ESA Academy Space Systems Engineering course. I gained unique insights into all aspects of Systems Engineering and the life cycle of projects. The lectures were given by experts in the field, which were keen to share their knowledge and provided us with plenty of examples from their real-life experiences. The theory came to life through the hands-on exercises, which were a lot of fun to do. Working together with other highly motivated students from different places and backgrounds made this course an unforgettable experience.
