Rachel Isaiah

We would like to welcome Rachel Isaiah to the School.

"I have a BSc (hons) in BioMedical Science from The University of Aberdeen and a MSc in Medical Physiology from University of East London.

My interests, particularly in exercise physiology and female strength training, have led me to pursue a PhD in menstrual cycle research supervised by Dr Ole Kemi, Dr Victoria Penpraze & Dr Katherine Price. I’ll be looking at exercise parameters across different phases of the menstrual cycle aiming to evaluate how/if the menstrual cycle affects performance.

Currently, there aren’t enough studies in this area and what is out there is of low quality. I hope my research will take us closer to establishing a standardised protocol for conducting exercise research on women and contribute to the gender data gap."

We wish you all the best with your studies.
