Ruth Bennett retires from the University
A retirement tea was held on Tuesday the 14th of May in room 222 for Ruth Bennett.
Ruth started Glasgow Uni in 2001 – job sharing as PA to Prof. Stuart Cobbe in Medical Cardiology at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. She then moved to GCRC in 2009 and worked with Prof. Alan Jardine, Prof. Naveed Sattar, Prof. Andy Baker, Prof. Mandy MacLan, Prof. John Petrie, Prof. Colin Berry, Prof. Chris Loughrey and Prof. Christian Delles. She also has done two stints as Administrator for the BHF 4 Year PhD Programme (the last one being from 2020).
As a celebration of Ruth and her years of service staff and students gathered for homemade sandwiches, quiches, cakes and coffee whilst sharing stories of Ruth. Colin Berry, Christian Delles and John Petrie all gave speeches. Ruth will be sorely missed and we wish her all the best in her next adventures of golf, tennis and family time.
