BHF Students speaking at a conference

The BHF PhD students travelled down to Bristol for the annual BHF conference. This is held every year with each of the BHF funded universities attending. Each university with a BHF sponsored PhD program takes a turn in hosting the conference.

Most of the students from the University of Glasgow presented posters. Corey McAleese gave a talk on “Heterogeneous Metabolic Response of Endothelial Cells from Different Vascular Beds to Hyperglycaemia and Metformin.” Emma Booth also presented her work on “Role of IL-15RA in cardiac fibrosis and remodelling in hypertension”. Eleanor Dickson Murray won an award for “Best Talk” for her talk on “Palmitoylation and regulation of the cardiac transient outward current” voted for by her fellow BHF PhD students. Well done Eleanor and to all the students who attended the conference!
