This one-day colloquium will look at asylum narratives from a variety of perspectives, analysing and discussing the voice and place of asylum seekers in Ireland. Speakers include academics and practitioners, artists and poets, and the day will conclude with the staging of the play "Éire, Land of a Hundred Thousand Welcomes".

Prof Alison Phipps, UNESCO Chair in Refugee Integration through Languages and the Arts will provide the Keynote Address "Broken World, Broken Word: Resilience in the Arts of Languaging Border Distress".
