Short Description

The aims of this course are: to introduce the orthography, phonology and grammatical structure of Middle Welsh; to develop an awareness of the historical development of the Welsh language in its earliest written forms; to provide a reading knowledge of Middle Welsh; to introduce Middle Welsh prose.

Timetable

Class will meet twice weekly for 1.5 hours in semester 1 and once a week for 1.5 hours in semester 2.

Assessment

The mark for this module will be determined on the basis of class exercises (35%), and general preparation and participation (5%), as well as by two class tests at the end of each semester of the course.
