As previously communicated, early in the new year we will be beginning work to demolish the Virology and Pontecorvo buildings on Church Street, in preparation for future development.

Deconstruction of the Virology Building is planned to start on the 6 January, with deconstruction of the Pontecorvo Building following thereafter. Together, we expect demolition work on this part of the site until Q1, 2021.

Discussions are currently taking place with Glasgow City Council regarding implementation of traffic management on Church Street during the works; we will keep you updated about this. On-street parking will be removed from the area of Church Street directly outside the Virology Building, down to Dumbarton Rd, and the pavement closed to pedestrians. Pedestrian access and parking will still be available on the side of the street opposite the site.

This work will be undertaken during hours specified by Glasgow City Council as part of the approved consents, 08:00 – 18:00 during weekdays and 08:00 – 13:00 Saturdays.

Multiplex monitor noise, vibration and air quality throughout the works to ensure they stay within acceptable levels.
