The School of Law successfully submitted to the GEM trial award in April 2014 and were awarded a Gender Equality Charter Mark Bronze award.

GEM utilises the experience and methodology of Athena SWAN but aims to address gender inequalities and imbalance in the arts, humanities and social sciences, in particular the underrepresentation of women in senior roles. The charter mark covers academic staff, professional and support staff, men, women and gender identity.
