The Confucius Institute are pleased to announce two free upcoming events taking place on Monday the 22nd April 2024 on the main Gilmorehill campus. All students and staff of the University of Glasgow and members of the public are welcome to attend, with the details as follows: 

Chinese Qigong session with Feixia Yu – 4:00pm-5:00pm 

An ideal way to recharge for work or study, start your week by gently stretching the body and relaxing the mind.  Join us for a traditional Chinese Qigong session with Feixia Yu, learning gentle stretching techniques to improve health & wellbeing. No gym clothes or mats necessary.

Classical Chinese Poetry and the Poetry of Robert Burns lecture with Dr Frank Pearson – 6:00pm-7:00pm 

This lecture event will explore classical Chinese and Scottish poetry, with a focus on comparisons between pre-Tang Dynasty writers and Tang Dynasty Chinese writers such as Du Fu and Scottish writers such as Robert Burns. The lecture will be followed by a Q&A, where the attendees will have the opportunity to learn more and share insights about this fascinating subject.
