Generating impact from our research
Impact acceleration accounts (IAAs) enable the translation of research into impact through support for commercialisation, engagement, staff mobility and culture change. Our College is home to three of the seven IAAs held by the University with a combined value of over £10 million.

24 JunThe University of Glasgow is welcoming guests from around the world to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Lord Kelvin. He grew up to be one of the 19th century’s most accomplished scientists, making breakthrough contributions to physics, engineering and mathematics during his near-lifelong career at the University of Glasgow, where he enrolled as a student aged just 10.

Scottish schoolchildren collide with Glasgow particle physics
The University of Glasgow's particle-physics research and theory groups have hosted 120 secondary-school students and staff for a 'masterclass' in the frontiers of physics. The event, on 11 June, was the first such Masterclass visit since the Covid-19 lockdowns put a pause to the once-annual gathering in the University of Glasgow's School of Physics & Astronomy. -
